This show is a stunt/dare reality game show in India, based on the American Fear Factor. The series was 1^st launched as Fear Factor India on Sony TV in 2006 where they received great response from the viewers but still the series was discontinued after one season and the channel gave up its rights to Colors TV and the series was relaunched as Fear Factor : Khatron Ke Khiladi.

The 1^st two seasons were hosted by Akshay Kumar and for 3^rd season he was replaced by Priyanka Chopra due to scheduling conflicts. In the 4^th season Akshay Kumar seemed to be back as host and again being replaced by Rohit Shetty in the 5^th season as Akshay had some family problems.

Season 4 was hosted by Akshay Kumar. This season was launched on 3 June 2011 till 23 July 2011 with 16 episodes. The winner of the season was Aarti Chhabria.

Season 5 was hosted by Rohit Shetty. This season was launched on 22 March 2014 till 25 May 2014 with 18 episodes. The winner of the season was Rajneesh Duggal.
